[ENG] Macaron Failed. But It's Lemon!

I've been wanting to make macarons since last year, but there's something about it that makes me kinda  "scared" so that i've been postponing it for so long. I was excited but really nervous at the same time, because from what i read there are dozen things that could go wrong when making macarons. And even the only sad thing when i failed is, i can't eat proper macarons, it's major lol
I decided to make the lemon one, even if i never had lemon macaron before, i really love lemon in my dessert, like lemon bars, lemon meringue pie, i already can i imagine how good it will turn out.

First, i made the lemon curd for the filling. Well, it's actually a lemon pie filling recipe because most of lemon curd recipes use whole eggs instead of just yolks. I wanted to use only yolks since i will use the whites for the macarons. So, i decided on the recipe that only use yolks, and i've actually made before, so i know that it's a good one.

[ENG] Prawn Aglio Olio e Peperoncino with Italian Herbs

Aglio e Olio! Recently my mom made this a lot and i love it! It's not the classic aglio e olio since she add italian herb seasoning & shrimps, but it's even greater! I already love the classic aglio e olio but when you add shrimps, it just takes it to another level ;) We also use the italian herb seasoning instead of fresh parsley, and i actually like the italian herbs a little bit better .

And even though she use frozen peeled shrimps, it still works really well! Make sure though you use good quality one if you wanna use  frozen shrimps too. My mom also tried to make it with tuna flakes instead of shrimps, but i like it far better with shrimps. Btw i don't really know the different between prawn and shrimp, i just use "prawn" on the tittle because it sounds cooler lol

I'll give you the recipe for 2 servings, but actually i made it for about 3-4 servings so you may notice that the amount of pasta, etc in the pictures are too much for 2 servings ^^

[ENG] Lemon Key Lime Bars That Looks Like Orange Bars

Lemon bars! One of my all time favorite sweet :) I made this few times before and i love it! The combination of the buttery shortbread crust and sweet & tangy lemon filling is really addictive! I you haven't had one before, i really recommend you to try it out, coz it's really good! ;)

It's pretty easy to make, but ironically this time, i made a silly mistake that makes it looks like orange bar than a lemon bar -.- That's using omega 3-eggs instead of regular eggs, and the orange yolks make the filling orange instead of yellow. So it's still taste like lemon bars, but it's just causing a little bit of confusion in my brain, since it's looks like orange bar, so my brain 'expected' it to taste like orange, but when i eat it, it taste like lemon lol

I didn't usually add lemon zest before, but i added it this time just to see the different, but in my opinion, it tastes the same lol. I don't know if it's because i didn't use a zester, i was just using a knife to peel off the outer yellow layer of the lemon skin, and slice it finely. I also added a little bit of key lime juice this time, it wasn't intentional, it's just because i ran out of lemon, but it turns out as good as the usual lemon bars! Mainly, it's still taste like lemon bars, but with a bit of the "soda" sensation you get from a key lime pie. It think it's because i used 3 small eggs instead of 2 large eggs that 2 large lemons wasn't enough.

Kue Cubit Green Tea

Kebetulan bgt toko bahan kuenya jual bubuk green tea. Walau tdnya gak mau berharap terlalu tinggi sama kualitas green teanya, tapi ternyata lumayan "mahteh" jg! yeayy... Jadi, kalo bisa pake bubuk greenteanya yang high quality ya biar makin mahteh ;) Btw karna gw kagak punya loyang kue cubit, jadinya pake loyang yang nyokap punya aja yang dulu dipake buat bikin kue laklak (kue tradisional bali gitu deh).

[ENG] Sundubu Jjigae - Korean Soft Tofu Stew + Kimchi Cheese Risotto

Sundubu Jjigae! One of my favorite korean dish, the soft tofu spicy stew.  It's perfect for a cold or rainy day. I've made this dozen times since i really love it and it's actually pretty simple to make :) This recipe is really the 'basic' (and slightly cheated) Sundubu Jjigae , but if you feel extra challenged, you can add bunch of stuff like some veggies & seafood.
