[ENG] How to Make 3 Ingredients Japanese Custard Pudding With A Microwave

So, i came across this japanese youtube video, the tittle is

【マジで10分】電子レンジ簡単マグカッププリンの作り方!

which means "How to make easy mug pudding with a microwave in 10 minutes" And i was blown away. You will only need 3 really basic ingredients (+ water). It looks really easy it's almost magic o_0

Or so i thought.. lol

Original recipe (in japanese) from 電子レンジで簡単!マグカッププリン
Ingredients (for 1 pudding):
3 tbsp sugar
1 egg
130ml (1/2 cup) milk
1 tsp water
a few drop of vanilla essence/extract (optional)

1. Put 1 tbsp of sugar & 1 tsp of water in a mug, pop it in the microwave on 600 watt for 1 minute or until the sugar turn into caramel (I put mine on high, and it took about 3 minutes). Let it harden while we make the pudding batter.

2. In a bowl, combine 1 egg and 2 tbsp of sugar, mix well with a fork until the sugar is dissolved. Pour in the milk slowly while stirring. Pour the batter into the mug, pop them in the microwave on 600 watt for 2 minutes. (I put mine on high for 2 minutes)

3. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then put it in the fridge. You can eat it warm or cold! It's great both ways ;) Flip it over in a plate, and it's done! :D

But this was what actually happened...
After in put them in the fridge for a while, i realized that actually the bottom part is still liquid, so i popped it back again in the microwave on high for 1 minute. (The recipe specifically mentions that you have to microwave it on 600 watt setting, which is not available on my microwave -.-", i think that's why the time i need to put it in the microwave differs from the original recipe.)

I tilted the mug to check if it's harden all the way to the bottom, and it finally was! So i let it rest again for 10 minutes, then back in the frigde.

But then, after sitting in the fridge for a while, i got a little watery ~.~ So i used a tissue paper to absorb some of the water.

And finallyyyy.... the moment of truth! *drumrolls*

If you ever tried making a mug cake before (that tastes like rubber -.-), i think this pudding is far better. The upper part (or the bottom part if u have flipped it to a plate) did slightly overcooked and taste a little bit "eggy", but overall it's really good! The pudding its self is not too sweet, which matches perfectly with the caramel, and it's really light. And actually i do think it's easier to make the caramel in a microwave like this because it doesn't get overburnt really quickly ;)

I really recommend you to try it,  it's so freakin easy! And let me know how yours turn out in the comment section below! :D
