[ENG] Simply Pretzels! [Part 2]

I baked the pretzels in 3 batches since my oven's not big enough to baked all of them at once. I used 35x35 cm baking sheet, 2 pretzel per batch. But now if i think about it again, the baking sheet is big enough for 4 pretzels lol

1st Batch: Original Salty Pretzels
After brushing it with egg yolk & water mixture, sprinkle it with coarse salt. I couldn't find coarse salt here so i use regular salt ^^

Btw if you don't let the dough rest before rolling it into a rope, it'll be really difficult to roll & it might break off in the middle ~.~ Mine turned out like this...

After i brushed it with egg yolk mixture... the pretzel on the bottom looks so miserable lol

I tried to bake them on the upper rack...

But after only 8 minutes they already got really brown so i had to take them out of the oven.

the one that looked so miserable turned out pretty gorgeous when it's baked

For this 1st batch, after i brushed the pretzels dough with egg yolk mixture, i let them rise for 15 minutes before baked them in the oven. They turned out soft and not too chewy...

For the next batches i immediately put them in the oven after i shaped the dough & brushed them with egg. They turned out chewy, and for me they're more pretzel-like :) And i baked them on the middle rack instead of the upper rack & they turned out great!

2nd batch: Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels
Before baking, brush the dough with egg yolk mixture but don't sprinkle with coarse salt.

After brushing with butter, i dipped the top in the cinnamon sugar.
i just mixed some sugar with some cinnamon powder ^^

3rd batch: Cheese Pretzel & another Salty Pretzel
My cheese in the fridge was sadly just enough to make 1 cheese pretzel :(( After i brushed it with egg yolk mixture, i topped them with grated cheese (i used cheddar, make sure you use cheese that will melt in the oven).

looking good :D

But the cheese got burned ~.~ It's a little bitter, but was still good and tasted like cheese. I read about this, and i supposed to add the cheese when the pretzel is halfway baked.

The taste?
Simply chewy & delicious! You can't just eat 1 of these, you'll want to eat more kkk.. So i suggest you to double the recipe if you're making it for your family.

If i were to rate them...
no.1: Cheese
yes, you can't go wrong with cheese, yummy~
no.2: Original Salty
          simple, savory & delicious...
no.3: Cinnamon Sugar
          sweet cinnamon goodness...

I recommend you to use salted butter instead of unsalted to brush the pretzel with, especially if you're making cinnamon sugar pretzel. I think it'll balance & enhance the sweetness of the sugar & make the pretzels more irresistible ;)
